2026 MINI Lineup Guide: The New Era of Go-Kart Feeling
If you've driven a MINI before, you already know the feeling -- that low, tight connection to the road that makes a trip to the grocery store feel like a lap around a circuit. For 2026, MINI has kept that sensation intact and rebuilt everything around it. New platform. New design language. New technology. And for the first time in Canada, a fully electric Countryman with all-wheel drive.
The brand calls the new direction "Charismatic Simplicity," and it shows the moment you open the door. Gone are the rows of toggle switches and layered dashboard panels. In their place sits a single 9.4-inch circular OLED display -- an industry first -- mounted at the centre of a clean, textile-covered dash. It handles navigation, media, climate, vehicle settings, and up to eight customizable Experience Modes that change the screen's visual theme and the cabin's ambient lighting in real time.
Every 2026 MINI runs on Operating System 9, with the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant responding to voice commands, and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto keeping your phone connected without cables. Over-the-air updates mean the system improves after you drive it off the lot.
That's the digital side. The driving side is pure MINI.
Six Models, One Philosophy
The 2026 Canadian lineup spans six distinct models. Three are Coopers -- the classic small car in 3 Door, 5 Door, and Convertible form. Two are Countryman SUVs -- one gas, one electric. And one is the John Cooper Works, the performance flagship that has always pushed MINI's limits a little further.

What ties them together is a shared engineering backbone: the same 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder (tuned to different outputs depending on the model), a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and standard features that used to cost extra -- head-up display, heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and a full suite of active safety systems.
The Cooper Range: Small Car, Big Personality
The Cooper 3 Door starts the lineup at $39,280. In base form, the 2.0-litre turbo produces 161 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque through the front wheels. Step up to the Cooper S and output climbs to 201 hp and 221 lb-ft, cutting the 0--100 km/h time from 7.4 seconds to 6.6 seconds. Combined fuel economy sits at 7.4 L/100 km for both.
The Cooper 5 Door ($40,280) adds a pair of rear doors and a fifth seat for just $1,000 more. Same engines, same performance, same technology -- but easier access for rear-seat passengers and a more practical layout for day-to-day driving.
The Cooper Convertible ($47,280) trades the fixed roof for a power-operated soft top. Montreal summers are short, but a Cooper with the top down along the Lachine Canal makes a strong argument for the upgrade.
All three share the 9.4-inch OLED display, head-up display, and standard safety equipment -- Active Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and Rear Collision Prevention.
John Cooper Works: 228 Horsepower of Heritage
The JCW ($55,280) has always been the MINI you buy when you want more. For 2026, its 2.0-litre turbo is tuned to produce 228 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, reaching 100 km/h in an estimated 5.9 seconds. It comes with JCW Sport Seats, a JCW steering wheel, unique wheel designs, and contrasting brake calipers.
New this year: the JCW Style Package is available on Cooper S models, adding much of the JCW's visual treatment -- adaptive dampers, specific wheels, and aerodynamic elements -- without the full engine tune. For drivers who want the stance and some of the handling upgrades at a lower entry point, it bridges the gap.
The JCW is available as a 3 Door hatchback or a Convertible.
The Countryman ALL4: MINI's Biggest Move
The Countryman is the largest MINI ever, and in Canada, every gas-powered Countryman comes with standard ALL4 intelligent all-wheel drive -- a meaningful advantage when November hits and Montreal's roads turn to ice.
Starting at $49,280, the Countryman S ALL4 puts 241 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque through all four wheels via the same seven-speed dual-clutch. It reaches 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and returns 8.7 L/100 km combined. Inside, it seats five and adds dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic glass roof, a power liftgate, roof rails, and wireless device charging on top of the standard technology suite.
Cargo space is up 25% over the previous generation. For families and weekend adventurers, the Countryman delivers space that no Cooper can match.
The JCW Countryman ALL4 is also available, raising output to 313 hp and 364 lb-ft of torque with JCW-specific styling and a sport-tuned suspension.
The Countryman SE ALL4: MINI's Electric Chapter
The Countryman SE ALL4 is MINI's first all-electric vehicle available in Canada, starting at $63,280. It swaps the turbo four for a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 308 hp and 364 lb-ft of torque, fed by a 64.7 kWh battery. The 0--100 km/h sprint takes 5.6 seconds -- making it the quickest model in the entire lineup.
Range is rated at up to 341 km. DC fast charging at up to 130 kW takes the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. At home, a Level 2 wallbox delivers a full charge overnight in about eight hours.
The cabin mirrors the gas Countryman's layout -- five seats, the same circular OLED display, the same safety systems -- but the seats are upholstered in Vescin, a leather-free material made from recycled content. MINI covers the battery with an 8-year warranty, and No-Charge Scheduled Maintenance is included for 3 years with unlimited mileage on all electric MINIs.
For Montreal drivers with predictable daily commutes and access to charging, the SE makes financial sense: no gas, no oil changes, and reduced brake wear thanks to regenerative braking.
What Comes Standard Across the Board
One of the strongest parts of the 2026 refresh is how much is standard. No matter which MINI you choose, you get:
The 9.4-inch circular OLED display running Operating System 9, with MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and over-the-air updates. Up to eight Experience Modes that reshape the display and cabin lighting. A head-up display projecting speed and navigation onto the windshield. The Toggle Bar -- a row of physical switches below the screen for climate, volume, and drive mode selection. Active Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and Rear Collision Prevention. Heated steering wheel and heated front seats. And leather-free interiors across the entire range.
Gas models include No-Charge Scheduled Maintenance for 3 years or 40,000 km. Electric models get 3 years with unlimited mileage. The MINI Digital Key Plus (new for 2026) comes with a single key fob and two keycards.
